Gods Eater Burst is a 2010 Action-RPG for the PlayStation Portable. It was developed by Namco Bandai Games and was published by D3Publisher in North America as “Gods Eater Burst”. The game was released Mid-March 2011, and is available as both a UMD and as a digital download from the PlayStation Network. The game is an expansion of the original Japanese-exclusive God Eater (ゴッドイーター), and adds the Burst storyline to the original G.E. story.
Description
GODS EATER BURST is the enhanced successor of the PSP hit GOD EATER (released in February 2010 in Japan) which has sold over 600,000 units in Japan to date.
Gameplay
The game possesses a large storyline which can be experienced fully with names and voice actors in single-player mode. Players play as a young, previously unemployed individual who has been enlisted as a “God Eater”, warriors who face powerful creatures called “Aragami”. The game boasts a mission-based single-player mode consisting of more than 100 missions, allowing co-operative play with up to 3 teammates which can be AI controlled or controlled by other players through Ad-hoc.
The game also features character creation allowing customization of hairstyle, hair color, face, skin, voice, clothing, and weapons. Another feature of the game is full bullet customization, a first for the PSP. The game can be described as a high-speed hack’n’slash game with a post-apocalytic plot. Players playing God Eater Burst get both the original God Eater storyline plus the Burst addition, effectively a 2 for 1 price for getting the game.

Game Description & Reviews:
OverviewPSP title featuring 4-player co-op, with tons of customization of weapons to fight demons in a futuristic industry-style world by Namco.
pradeepXdark rates this game: 5/5A PSP title by Namco.
The game takes off in a world where humans are being hunted by monsters
(aragami) and the player joins as a newbie hunter/ recruit.
The game is full of fast paced action with lots of weapon options and switchable between gun and sword (God Arc). Craft , upgrade, destroy join forces with your fellow team mates and take down the aragami (co-op single player does not require any LAN connection).
A totally enjoyable game!

SeanTy16 says:The game have many coll features and one of it is a 'friend card' which can be used to play a mission with your friend online just like in Dissidia: Final Fantasy.
Kristjanna rates this game: 5/5While this game was a clear clone of the Monster Hunter series, this is THE clone.
This game features a long campaign with memorable characters that will tug on your heartstrings, an additional post-game story and some special challenge missions.
Story:
The last of the humans are forced to live in constant fear of being dinner for the Aragami, giant monsters made of rapidly evolving cells that take on the form of whatever that believe will help them survive, from a tank to old gods based on their lore. The only people who can fight them are God Eaters, soldiers for the militant group 'Fenrir' who have sacrificed their own hands to Aragami cells to weild a powerful weapon, the God Arc, which can devour the core of an Aragami and kill it completely.

Features:
The maps, while limited in number, are large and challenging to navigate.
The combat is much more action-packed than Monster Hunter, with a Sword-Gun combo weapon (God Arc) that with the tap of the R button changes from close-up sword to a ranged weapon in a second. You can jump out of the way, onto higher ground for tactical advantage or use your God Arc to devour the enemy, gain special bullets and activate Burst and decimate your foe in person. You can bring other God Eaters with you to distract, fight and heal. In multiplayer you of course can coordinate your battle strategy much better.
You can design your own bullets, from a mortar that blows up on the enemy while simultaneously shooting an ally with a healing bullet to an orb that floats in the air, locks onto a target and shoots a shotgun blast of lasers.
Outfits are purely aesthetic, but weapon and shield upgrades are the best way to show off your prowess and progress. You can even craft other God Eaters' signature God Arcs and outfits.
Cons:
The only problem I've encountered with this game is that the controls are a bit too numerous for the PSP, therefore there's a lot of overlapping controls, primarily and most notably the R button (Hold R to run, press R to change from blade to gun)
Other than that, great game worth a great many hours of gameplay. 5/5.
